A drawn out anti-smoking advertisement which suffers from horrible sound mixing and loses its focus by touching on horror, thriller, action and even crime with too much dialogue towards the end. Tilda Swinton and Rachel Weisz give solid performances unlike the monotonous Keanu Reeves whose minimal charisma shines during the demon fights, exorcism procedures and travelings to hell. The uneven genre mix holds Reeves back from switching into full John Wick mode, making Constantine look like an unofficial pilot film to Derek Kolstad’s artistic action noir franchise.
