From an absolute selfless, toxic mediator to a ruthless, Don Corleone-channeling chef: An overly amusing Spanish workplace drama using a comedic carambolage to reveal the holes of a malfunctioning, family-oriented work culture inside the scale manufacturer Blanco with a terrific Javier Bardem experiencing everything firsthand as the son and inheritor of the company. Although the film could have been 15–20 minutes shorter, the ending itself is very clever showing the effects of a concealed peace: Blanco’s wide-ranging mimics changing with the movement of time – an evil harmony between mental imbalance and corporate balance.
